Poem: Fake spring

Walking the kids to school on a morning where you could bundle in a winter coat or wear shorts and flip flops and no one would bat an eye at either.

Sunshine through frigid cold

The biting breeze, sting of crisp air

A radiant countenance

Peace at any cost

Like the fake spring

Feigning warmth on emerging buds

Adversity shaping strength, cutting roots
